Our seniors are the keepers of our culture, and ENCAP offers needed and relevant programing and resourses to them. The need is great especially in lieu of the fact that this is the largest growing segment of our population, one which also exist primarilly on fixed incomes.

Senior programs include:

Services for the 8090 seniors the last Thursday of every month the seniors come together for the "Senior Breakfast," which they prepare themselves. The event runs from 8am - 2pm and is an excellent way for the seniors to socialize. After breakfast there is always a guest speaker that addresses issues that seniors are concerned about. Other activities include:

• Seniors Bingo playing

• A monthly trip is made to Lincoln to pickup items for bingo prizes

• A group of 1012 seniors meet every Tuesday to socialize and knit

• Senior community events:

The spring Black Family Health Fair held at North High school with a follow up health fair held at ENCAP

An annual Spring FishFry at ENCAP with the proceeds going back to the seniors for an event of their choosing.

Homestead Exemption for seniors

Seniors participate in a Flea Market with the proceeds coming back to ENCAP to purchase items for clients such as diapers, toiletries, paper products.

Additional activities are being developed for an exercise class, art classes and a book club.

Senior Activities:

Our Knitting and crocheting classes are held every tuesday fron 10:00am to 12:00 noon. No previous knitting experience is necessary.

The senior breakfasy is held on the last Thursday of every month from 8:30am to 10:00am, Bingo follows from 10:00am to 12:00 noon.
